We are arrived in Paris yesterday. We took the Eurostar under the channel. You are only under the water, under the sea bed actually, for about 20 minutes of the entire 2 1/2 hour trip.
Our new home is in Croissy-sur-seine...15 minutes due west of the city near Saint Germain, if anyone knows that neighborhood. Our house is a block from the Seine, but as you see by the photos, it is not the touristy Seine we will see in Paris. If you didn't know it was the Seine, you might just jog on by. Thankful for the view, by not taken by the name.
Our village is all you would dream of in a French village. We have found few that admit to speaking english. The Henrys are hard to miss as we pile into the local bakery. Really, we barely fit. It is easy to see how necessity will teach us French--some french-- quickly.
I will post our photos if possible. We are sitting down to presentations on the Louvre, the Arch de Triomphe, the Eiffel Tower, Davinci paintings and for Bonnie, the French Revolution. (I knew she could do it justice!) We are reading Dickens: Tale of Two Cities and Victor Hugo's Les Mis while we are in France. When we are not walking we will be sitting reading!
Warm thoughts to all. Keep those notes coming.
