Hello everyone, just blogging to tell you about Rome. Two days ago to get better aquainted with Rome we each did a report on something important about Rome's history. Mom had given us a wide variety of choices the day before and each of us had chosen a topic that we thought seemed interesting. We spent most of that day researching our topics, with a deadline of being ready to present by the night after. Then We all hurried off to take turns on our internet computer, or to look through books on Rome. The next day each of us had researched until we found our information satisfactory, tension was building because we knew that we had to present that night(Much like for those of you in middle years when you wake up one morning and mentally exclaim Oh I have an in-class-essay today!). However when we presented that night everthing ran smoothly, Bonnie did her report on everthing there is to know about the Etruscan Empire. I told eveyone about Arches, domes, vaults ect.. in my report about Roman engineering and architecture. Helene told us about Roman immigration laws, how they formed, and why. Sean told us about Rome's military, their tactics and stategies, with some detail about Caesars's praetorian guard. Finally Caroline told us about the Tiber river, it's importance to Rome, and all of the fascinating and unusual myths connected to it. We all had a good time and came out at 11:00 feeling noticeably enlightened. Anyway we'll keep you posted about Rome.
